What are the terms and conditions of ordering from Digital Ceramics?

How do I send my own photo?

Just select “order” from our product list, you will be prompted when to attach your photo, your email will open to photo@digital-ceramics.com and from there you can attach your photo along with any “Special Instructions” you may have. If you do not have a digital photo you can use regular mail service to send us your photo at the address listed on our “Home” Page. It will be returned to you with your order. ($1.50 Service Charge for scanning applies) Please do NOT send negatives. Digital-Ceramics does not do Photo restoration. Be sure to send a good quality photo for scanning purposes.

Does Digital-Ceramics have any “requirements” for personal photos?

Yes, each photo must be a minimum of 640x480 and be no less than 100 dpi (dots per inch) this will all but assure that no pixels will show on your final product. If it is not, there will be a charge of $1.50 per photo to have us print it out and rescan so that it meets the “minimum” requirement. When we rescan your image we will do so at 300 DPI, this will assure that the highest quality photo will be “burned” into the product you have selected. The ideal “size” of a digital photo sent to us is between 1 & 2 megabytes at 200 – 300 DPI.

How long does Digital-Ceramics keep a copy of my photo?

We will keep your photo on our site for 30 days after we ship your finished product to you. This is to be sure if for any reason anything is wrong with your item after you receive it, we can create another for you free of charge. All merchandise “damaged or not to your satisfaction” must be returned to Digital – Ceramics prior to another being made or a Credit issued. A UPS/FedEx return shipment tracking number is all that is required for us to start the process.

What is the process that Digital-Ceramics uses to create their products?

It is called Dye Sublimation. Dye Sublimation transfer is a process by which you can use an image that has been created digitally either by scanning a photograph or downloading a picture taken with your digital camera or an image created in a piece of imaging software like Photoshop or Corel and then printing this image with on a desktop printer using special inks called sublimation inks onto paper. Once the image is on the paper it is placed under a heat transfer press on top of your tile, mug, etc., and heated until the ink turns to a gas and transfers the image onto the item you are creating. The image is "burned" into the tile underneath the coating which guarantees years of image protection on the object. The transfer paper and inks used helps "prolong" the life of the photo once it is transferred onto a tile or other ceramic product. We use only "TruPix"® bright white photo transfer paper so that the "clarity" of the image is never lost, whether in full vibrant color, or black & white, the image will transfer just as clear as the photo itself. Digital-Ceramics uses only UV coated inks. These inks have a special coating which protects your products from fading in sunlight or direct internal lighting. Remember your image is actually burned into the tile, not, glued to the tile. The end result is a beautiful, replication of your image, on ceramic media. Enjoy!

What is Digital-Ceramics Policy on Special Order Items?

Digital-Ceramics will special order any item requested that can be sublimated. If it cannot be sublimated or coated the buyer will be advised of this at the time of request. The order process usually takes 7 days to receive the item in-house. After your items are received the turn around time is 3 – 5 working days depending upon the amount of items ordered. Cancellation of or permitted refunds on any Special Order will result in the buyer being billed the cost of said items incurred by Digital-Ceramics.

What is your return policy?

At Digital-Ceramics we will do all that we can to satisfy your order with the finest quality product. Sometimes however, there are defects or damage. Below are our policies for returns and credit.
All sales are paid with a credit card from VISA, MASTERCARD, AMERICAN EXPRESS AND DISCOVER.
We may at our discretion also ship C.O.D. the customer will be responsible for the extra shipping charges.
We reserve the right to refuse orders and to handle each customer on an individual basis.

RETURNS:
No merchandise can be returned without prior permission from Digital – Ceramics. You must notify us of any loss, damage or defects within 5 days of receipt of shipment.

CREDITS: We will make all credits on legitimate claims with replaced merchandise. Any other form of credit is at the discretion of Digital - Ceramics.

Our processing partner, Paypal, uses SSL technology to keep your information safe. When you send a payment using PayPal, the recipient won't receive your sensitive financial information like your credit card or bank account number. This way, you don't have to worry about paying people you don't know.
